The First meeting of 2022 season saw the Cup Series head south to the popular Aldershot raceway! With 18 drivers in attendance and no less than 6 new rookie drivers it was going to be a very interesting day! The Drivers didn't disappoint with plenty of side by side action!
The first heat saw #77 Allen Hall take the win from the #69 Tiller and #19 Lymn bringing home the top three with Top Rookie #81 Gleadall finishing 8th and #9 Battison 9th!
The second heat saw the #5 Hodges, after his visit to the wall in heat one take a fine win with #77 Hall second and #11 Stanford rounding up the top three! The Top rookie saw the Hire Driver John Marshall in the #12 car bringing the car home in 9th and new comer to the series #52 Taylor in 10th both drivers in their first outing in a Cup Car!
The final again saw another great race with the #69 Harry Tiller coming through the pack to take top honours from #77 Hall and #5 Hodges rounding off the top three with the top Rookie going to #9 Battison in 9th followed closely by #12 Marshall and #52 Taylor!
Fastest lap of the day saw the #19 Ben Lymn with a 14.645 in heat one!
Congratulations to all drivers for another great start to the season!
Overall the Cup Series Drivers gave a Super close , side by side demonstration of competitive racing with three different winners and plenty of action!
Next meeting will see the drivers head to the Daytona of the UK Hednesford Raceway on Sunday 20th March for Round two of The ACC Championship on the high speed banked track, where thrills and spills are guaranteed!!
